A 2014 Blues Music Award winner, there’s not a time in her life that singer/bassist/songwriter Danielle Nicole (born Danielle Nicole Schnebelen) doesn’t remember loving to perform. As a child, she would sing for her family at holidays and took tap, jazz and ballet lessons for many years competing in numerous events. Danielle also took band in middle school, playing the tenor saxophone and enjoying it quite a bit. Unfortunately, she was forced to quit when the family moved to Kansas City and the new school did not offer band.

Danielle comes from generations of singers. Her grandmother, Evelyn Skinner, was a big band singer. Danielle’s mother, Lisa Swedlund, taught her everything she knew while growing up and listening to all different kinds of music from the Everly Brothers to the B-52s.

Along with her brothers Kris and Nick they formed a family band that became known as Trampled Under Foot. As Trampled Under Foot wound down after 13 years, Danielle formed her own band and made her Concord Records solo debut with “Wolf Den.” Released last year the disc is a New Orleans-flavored, blues-soul based EP, featuring GRAMMY®-winning producer-guitarist Anders Osborne, Galactic’s co-founding drummer Stanton Moore and her regular keyboardist Mike “Shinetop, Jr.” Sedovic.

Yep, it’s her, she is guitarist in the viral video “shredding her Gibson” you’ve seen all over Facebook and the web. Here is your chance to see her “Live and Up Close.”

JOANNA CONNOR moved to Chicago (from Boston) to pursue a career playing Blues guitar at the age of 17. She played any chance she got and with the assistance of greats like Magic Slim and Buddy Guy learned the craft and paid her dues.

She covers the range of modern blues, slide guitar and blues rock with her own compositions very much influenced by funk, rock, jazz and world music as well as delta blues. Her sense of melody, phrasing and dynamics along with a very modern technique make her a very funky, soulful and compelling guitarist.

Her big shot came and went in her 20’s with a major label recording contract, CD’s, and tours. With the collapse of the record label she turned her attention to raising her two children. She became a staple of the Chicago circuit and known as one of the windy cities hardest working musicians.

Her children now raised, JOANNA CONNOR, is ready to take her place on the national stage among the Blues elite. If you haven’t seen her this is one show you do not want to miss! Sure to be among the falls hotest shows.

More than just a Blues-Rock artist, award-winning guitar player Sonny Moorman balances his signature smoking-hot riffs with a hard-rocking precision and feel born deep in the Blues ethos. Seeming to channel inspiration from elsewhere, his world-class playing is at once both transcendental and firmly grounded in reality, captivating audiences nationwide. The music is original, complex and never stale, with relatable lyrics and a sound that conjures up masters like Duane Allman, Lonnie Mack, and Freddy King. Still, Moorman has forged his own intoxicating style throughout his decades-long career, which firmly establishes him as one of the last great authentic roadhouse players.

“He can flat-out play—and sing… Sounds have been passed from blues giant Freddy King to Lonnie Mack to Sonny Moorman.” – Randy McNutt

“Although listeners can hear the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Lonnie Mack, and Peter Green in his music, any comparison does him no justice. Basically, Sonny sounds like Sonny, with a fat, creamy, and wonderful power blues resonance.” ~ Brian D. Holland, Blues Revue Magazine

“In the best tradition of power trios, Moorman delivers the crunch and the wow!” ~ Jim Hynes, Elmore Magazine

Wishbone Ash, one of the most influential guitar bands in the history of rock, bring it to their North American fans on the 2016 “Take It Back” Tour. As they celebrate their 47th anniversary, the guys will present time-honored classics and deep tracks from the back catalog, as well as material from recent recordings.

“We’d like to mix it up a little,” says founding member Andy Powell. “Perhaps include a different epic instrumental, dust off a couple of the old harmony-driven songs, feature an unexpected track from our latest album, ‘Blue Horizon.’”

Formed in 1969, Wishbone Ash finds itself in rare company these days. Not many bands are still going strong after nearly 50 years. It takes a serious lifetime of commitment to the craft of making music; but, more importantly, real skill is required to navigate the shifting seas of the music industry, and few know that better than Powell.

Wishbone Ash is led by Powell on guitar and vocals, trading licks with Finnish guitar master Muddy Manninen. Bassist Bob Skeat, an 19-year veteran of the band, sets the pace with Joe Crabtree, one of the best of Britain’s new breed of drummers.

There is no other rock band in history that has done more with the twin guitar concept than The Ash. Be sure to catch them on the Take It Back Tour.

For over 50 years, John Mayall has served as a pioneer of blues music, rightly earning him the title, “The Godfather of British Blues.” In 2013, John signed with producer Eric Corne’s label, Forty Below Records, and has since been experiencing a true artistic and career renaissance.

This revival continues with the release of a brilliant new studio album titled ‘Find a Way to Care’, produced by John and Eric at famed House of Blues Studios in Encino, California. About the new album, Corne says, “I really wanted to feature John’s keyboard playing on this record. He’s truly one of the most lyrical, economical and underrated keyboardists around. We also wanted to change things up a bit after the success of “A Special Life” and the addition of a horn section on several tracks was a really fun way to do that. As good as the last album was, I think this one is even better.”

On the new album, John adds harmonica on two songs, as well as a classic guitar track reminiscent of Hubert Sumlin or Muddy Waters on the latter’s legendary “Long Distance Call.” He is joined by his killer touring band: Rocky Athas (guitar), Greg Rzab (bass) and Jay Davenport (drums). The release of “Find a Way to Care” comes on the heels of Mayall’s internationally-acclaimed, “A Special Life” in released in 2014. “I’d easily put this one among Mayall’s best efforts – and that includes ‘Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton,’ ‘A Hard Road’ and ‘Blues from Laurel Canyon!’” (about.com)

Earlier this year, John and Forty Below thrilled the blues world with the release of the historical Bluesbreakers album, ‘Live In 1967’, featuring the three original members of Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. “Sunken treasure doesn’t get much better” (Classic Rock Magazine).

  • Just Announced: BILL CARTER, legendary singer/songwriter, from Austin, Texas will open the show. Over two hundred artists have found gold in his songwriting genius, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robert Palmer, the Counting Crows, Storyville, Omar and The Howlers, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Ruth Brown, John Anderson, and Waylon Jennings, just to name a few.

"When you have a powerful Southern soul singer with a penchant for AC/DC, you know you’re going to get something badass…A talent not to be ignored. Hell, she packs so much power, she’ll never let you.” — PopMatters

Those who have seen Carolina girl Nikki Hill sing her ass off agree—this isn’t just another newcomer on the scene, this is a ‘whiplash’ moment. Where did this fireball come from? Why haven’t I heard of her before? If you haven’t heard of Nikki Hill yet, you soon will, and once you see her perform, you won’t forget her.

Hill and her band have been touring extensively following the independent 2015 release ‘Heavy Hearts Hard Fists’ and debut album ‘Here’s Nikki Hill’, released in 2013. With a no-filter energy, and explosive live show, they deliver a sound that will make you believe in rock ‘n’ roll again! Nikki’s unique voice—with raw rock and soul dynamics mixed with the strength, passion, and honesty of blues shouters of the past—steers the driving guitar and a tight rhythm section to create a breath of fresh air with their fast forward approach to American roots music.

Nikki Hill’s self-titled, independently released EP in June of 2012 created a heavy and sudden international underground buzz that the band has traveled with across America and overseas to Europe and Australia. Those four tunes penned by Hill, combined with memorable live performances, have drawn a wide range of people from every avenue and musical taste to their shows. Her enthusiasm for music is simply contagious. One club advertisement will call Nikki “The Southern Fireball”, “the New Soul Sensation”, “amazing R&B Shouter”, and even “the new Queen of Rock n’ Roll”. If you haven’t heard of her yet, prepare for your ‘whiplash moment’. You have been warned.

The master guitarist is back! This time with his bigger band.

Eric Gales grew up in a musical family with four brothers, two of them who learned to play the guitar upside down and left handed in the same fashion that Eric does. Eric’s brother Eugene Gales played bass in the Eric Gales Band and his brother Little Jimmy King had a thriving career as a blues artist before his untimely death. Eric released his first record at Age 16 for Elektra records to an amazing response from the media and music fans around the globe. Guitar World Magazine’s Reader’s Poll named Eric as “Best New Talent,” in 1991. After recording a second record for Elektra, all three brothers teamed up for The Gales Bros. “Left Hand Brand” which was recorded for the House of Blues label in 1996.

Through the years, it would not be unusual to look out in the audience and see artists like Carlos Santana, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, B. B. King, and Eric Clapton, looking on with interest as Eric took his God-given talent and worked crowd after crowd into a frenzy. The new Millennium presented new opportunities for Eric and he was signed to a deal with Nightbird Records which was affiliated with the Hendrix family and distributed through MCA/Universal. Under this deal, Eric recorded the critically acclaimed record “That’s What I Am” in 2001 and hit the road, mesmerizing fans around the world with his uncanny connection to his guitar. In 2006 Eric recorded the critically acclaimed CD “Crystal Vision” for Blues Bureau and set the stage for his incredible Blues Bureau follow-up, “The Psychedelic Underground.” in 2007. Eric followed sharply in 2008 with “The Story of my Life” and in 2010 hit a new stride altogether with the incredibly successful album “Relentless”. That album combined with his latest studio album “Transformation” released in 2011 set the stage for his upcoming Double Live Album/DVD due in October of 2012.

As both an African-American left-handed guitarist of extraordinary ability and an expressive vocalist, it is natural for people to compare Eric to Hendrix but Eric has developed a unique hybrid blues/rock sound that also draws upon influences as diverse as Albert King and Eric Johnson. A unique amalgam of styles, Eric Gales stands head and shoulders among other guitarists in his genre.”

As a kid, Toronzo would listen to the raw, soulful sounds of legends like Junior Wells, Buddy Guy and Muddy Waters. “It wasn’t just the music that got me, but the effect on the people. I knew right then, that was what I was gonna do.” These experiences led him to pick up his first guitar as a teenager and begin to learn to sing and play the sounds he heard. Inspired by the three Kings (Freddie, B.B. and Albert), a little Hendrix and some 70’s R&B/Soul, Toronzo soon developed his own sound. “If I wasn’t gigging I was hitting every jam session I could find. I couldn’t get enough.” It was during this time that he developed his own powerful, gospel-flavored vocal style and electrifying stage presence.

If blues music is dying, you would never know it after you listen to … Toronzo Cannon. While some fear for the future, .. (he) uses vibrant material coupled with his unbridled enthusiasm to provide ample evidence that the blues tradition is safe in his hands. —Mark Thompson, Blues Blast Magazine

Magic Dick, the legendary harmonica player for Boston’s legendary J. The music is soulful blues, rockin’ yet thoughtful and performed by arguably two of the top musicians at their respective instruments.

The Slide Brothers are the greatest living musicians who embody the Sacred Steel tradition – Calvin Cooke, Aubrey Ghent, Chuck Campbell and Darick Campbell. Despite its role in church services, this dynamic, high energy music had never been heard outside of church. As a new century dawned, rumors of an extraordinary new form of slide guitar began to attract interest among blues fans who long favored the electrified sound of slide guitar masters such as Elmore James and Duane Allman. At the center core of the Sacred Steel movement was its artistic purity. Ted Beard, Calvin Cooke, Aubrey Ghent and other pedal steel icons within the church had fostered a rich, uniquely American art form unspoiled by commercialism.

This is a co-headlining show. MAGIC DICK & SHUN NG will open and the SLIDE BROTHERS close the night.
